WHAT OIL SHOULD I RUN IN MY JET SKI?
Well, that’s a simple question, and the answer is surprisingly simple:
Which jet ski battery you need depends upon the manufacturer. There are three battery sizes as well as three battery types used in jet skis.
Depending upon the manufacturer, batteries will have a coded part number, like SB16-BS.
For PWC use, there are really only three size choices:

One question that we always ask when parts are ordered is…. what is the year, make, and model of your jet ski?
We often have customers that just don’t know. They want to consult their VIN number or their jet ski title or registration, not realizing that not all of the information they are seeking is there. The make and the year of the ski can be determined, but not the elusive model.

All vessels with motors, including personal watercrafts (PWC), operating on Florida waters must be registered and titled and also display Florida registration numbers, hull identification numbers (HIN) and a valid decal.

Put the finishing touches on your jet ski seat recover.
After removing the old seat cover, setting the new cover in the sun to “relax” it, and tacking the new cover in place ….. you are ready to begin stapling the new cover to the seat.
When recovering your jet ski seat, first remove the old seat cover and staples.
In this video, we have a Yamaha impeller that has had the shaft cut and therefore has no end for the removal tool. Removal is a little more difficult, but can be done!
The FLYWHEEL (magneto, generator, rotor or vaious other names) is affixed to the crank really tight. To get it off, you are going to need a special tool – a flywheel puller.

All modern jet skis use an axial jet pump – a tube and nozzle setup that sprays water out with great force.
The jet ski pump consists of a housing, wear ring and impeller. The wear ring can be either plastic or stainless steel, depending on the make of your jet ski.
The jet ski impeller fits tightly and spins inside of the wear ring, which sits inside of the housing.
The jet ski wear ring and the impeller are the two parts that generally wear or are damaged. And are generally both replaced at the same time.

A key component to complete the re-building of a carburetor is the pop-off test.
The pop-off is a CRITICAL component of the carb tuning mix. Incorrect pop-off can cause severe performance issues, and engine damage.
This is especially true for skis that have been sitting for over 30 days.
Whenever running a ski that wasn’t out yesterday for a few hours, it is advised to check the spark plugs before running it for an extended period of time.

First question is….. 4 stroke or 2 stroke? Water in a 4 stroke is in the crankcase and so is the reservoir for the oil. The water and oil get mixed and put a white foam all over the inside of the engine. Much bigger problem.
